The Coronation Stakes has drawn a quality field of three-year-old fillies and is the first of three Group 1 feature races on Day 5 of the Royal Ascot Carnival.
Contested over a mile, the Coronation Stakes has been won by some outstanding horses, and another exciting contest looks like materialising on Saturday night (AEST).

Suggested Bets
- 3 Units straight out #4 Quadrilateral
- Boxed Trifecta of the selections below
Quadrilateral will enjoy good improvement into her second campaign start and looks the filly to beat in the Coronation Stakes.
The daughter of Frankel simply could not have been more impressive during her debut preparation, winning each of her three starts including the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile.
She was well beaten by Love when resuming in the Group 1 1000 Guineas, but she doesn’t have to contest with that horse here and she can record the second Group 1 win of her career.
Cloak Of Spirits ran second in the 1000 Guineas when resuming and should also improve into this contest.
The Invincible Spirit filly returned some good performances during her debut prep without setting the racing world on fire, but her first-up effort this time suggested that she has returned to the track a more furnished prospect this time.
I don’t think she’ll be able to match it with Quadrilateral again, but she certainly looks up to running a place.
This is a rise in class for Run Wild, but she beat her closest rivals by more than three lengths at Newmarket last time and she is worthy of a crack at the highest level.
The daughter of Amaron is one of the more experience customers in the Coronation Stakes field, having recorded two wins and a further three minors from seven starts.
Trainer John Gosden certainly knows what he’s doing and Run Wild can return the stable another good result.
So Wonderful looks to be the value in Coronation Stakes betting ($12 at publish) and wouldn’t look out of place in the finish.
A daughter of War Front, So Wonderful is actually a nine-start maiden, but she has raced in Stakes company on all but two occasions, and resumed this time to fill the minors of the Group 1 Irish 1000 Guineas at The Curragh.
Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore combine with her, and that’s almost enough to consider her a leading contender regardless of prior form.
