Esupercars All Stars Eseries – Round 5 Tips & Preview

V8 Supercars’ biggest and brightest stars descend upon the virtual world of the All Stars Eseries again on Wednesday with the always exciting Spa Circuit in Belgium and Germany’s famous Nurburgring playing host to Round 5.

Round 4 was a classic with Shane Van Gisbergen strengthening his grip on the rest of the competition in Montreal, and if last week’s action taught us anything, it’s that we should be in for another treat.

Our in-house rev head has put the pedal to the metal and offered his best tips, so be sure to read on below if you fancy backing a winner!

ESeries Round 5 - Spa/Nurburgring
Shane Van Gisbergen @ $2.70

The price has shortened a little on Shane Van Gisbergen following last week’s triumph in Montreal, but until he shortens into something like a $1.80 pop, I’ll continue to bet on him at value.

Van Gisbergen has now taken a commanding 80-point lead ahead of the second-place Cameron Waters in the drivers’ standings and, considering how much expertise and poise he’s shown thus far, I don’t see him having any trouble handling the long straights and sweeping corners that Spa and the Nurburgring have to offer.

ESeries Round 5 - Spa/Nurburgring
Anton De Pasquale @ $3.75

If you’re looking for somebody at slightly longer odds, make it Werribee’s finest – Anton De Pasquale.

The Aussie was competitive at Silverstone two weeks back and the Spa and Nurburgring circuit maps both call for speed and precision into the winding corners.

Even though Van Ginsberg is putting a gap between himself and the rest of the field, the battle for a spot in the top four continues to heat up. De Pasquale currently sits sixth but only 19-points behind the fifth-placed Chaz Mostert. This is his opportunity to make up some ground.
