Grafton: Race 2 (1:25pm)
No. 4 Unimpeded

Unimpeded has returned two competitive efforts back from a spell and is ready to win at Grafton this afternoon. The four-year-old daughter of Unencumbered hit the line with intent to finish second at Murwillumbah when resuming and was last seen filling the minors in Class 1 company at Coffs Harbour. Fitter third-up, she doesn’t have many excuses today.

Ipswich: Race 5 (3:27pm)
No. 13 Vampirina Diamond

Vampirina Diamond hasn’t been seen at the races since January, but she stamped herself as one to watch during her debut prep and can break her maiden first-up at Ipswich this afternoon. The Michael Costa-trained filly obviously didn’t win, but she also didn’t miss a place in three starts, including a close-up second on the Gold Coast last time out. She’s had the benefit of a trial and looks ready to go.

Ipswich: Race 6 (4:04pm)
No. 1 Brinkmanship

Brinkmanship has returned some competitive efforts this time and strikes a very winnable race at Ipswich this afternoon. The Spirit Of Boom gelding does sometimes mix his form, but he recorded a lovely win at Ballina earlier this prep and has filled the minors at his last two appearances. He’s rock-hard fit and probably won’t be offered a better opportunity to return to winning form.

Grafton: Race 7 (4:35pm)
No. 1 Drachenfels

Former Godolphin runner Drachenfels hasn’t shown his best form in two starts for Jeremy Sylvester, but he’s had his runs spaced and returned a lovely trial at Newcastle in the lead-up to this race at Grafton today. The Street Cry gelding has typically stepped out in far tougher races than this throughout his racing career and at his best, he does still hold a class edge over the majority of these rivals. Happy to have something on each-way at the price ($15 at publish).
