best bet
Swan Hill: Race 4 (2:00pm)
No. 12 Wu Darl

Wu Darl was narrowly beaten last time out at Swan Hill where she stormed the line late behind Vain Tiger for second. The daughter of Dundeel looked a different filly with the blinkers on last time out though, and can easily go one better here from a perfect draw. Dean Yendall replaces Michael Poy in the saddle and the pair look extremely tough to beat.

each way
Swan Hill: Race 5 (2:30pm)
No. 14 Northanna

Northanna has been racing well of late and looks a decent each-way play in the fifth at Swan Hill. The three-year-old filly by Helmet overcame a wide draw in her last start over the course and distance to finish less than a length behind the winner Open the Hatch. She’s racing with the blinkers on for the second time today and maps to get a lovely run in transit from barrier 2.

Swan Hill: Race 6 (3:00pm)
No. 5 Don't Make Me Wait

This is a wide-open betting race among the stayers, but it’s very difficult to knock the recent form of Don’t Make Me Wait. The Neville Kennedy-trained gelding strung together three wins on the trot before placing third over the 2400m last start. He’s been simply outstanding over the last two months and should be doing his best work late with Jack Hill retaining the ride.

Swan Hill: Race 8 (4:00pm)
No. 7 Top Fred

Top Fred returned to the races in great order a fortnight ago winning first-up over the 1200m at Swan Hill. He was electric down the straight winning by nearly a length over Delivid and can easily make it two-from-two this time in from another handy gate. Dean Yendall retains the ride and, with $4.00 on offer at time of publish, I’m happy to have him.
