Scone: Race 2 (12:55pm)
No. 11 Mother's Day

Mother’s Day has returned two competitive efforts back from a spell and is ready to win at Scone this afternoon.

The Rod Northam-trained filly hasn’t run a bad race since debuting in October, placing on three occasions including her last-start effort over 1100m here at Scone.

She has plenty of upside, the small rise in trip looks like suiting and she might not be offered a better opportunity to break her maiden.

Scone: Race 5 (2:40pm)
No. 2 Van Giz

Van Giz has returned some good efforts this time and is primed for a return to winning form at Scone today.

The Bjorn Baker-trained filly capped her debut prep with a lovely race win and has so-far finished second at three of her four starts this time in, including a close-up finish over 1100m at Gosford last time out.

She’s rock-hard fit and jockey Mitchell Bell has options from the rails draw.

Scone: Race 7 (3:55pm)
No. 11 Phaistos

Phaistos has returned to the track in typically strong form this time and the Scone Cup looks the perfect feature race for him.

The four-year-old Helmet gelding doesn’t know how to run a bad race and boasts an impressive record of six wins and six placings from only fifteen career starts.

So far this preparation, he ran on to just missed over 1400m at Randwick before going one better with a dominant performance in BM88 company last time out.

This is harder, but he harbours further improvement and will relish getting out to a mile.

Scone: Race 8 (4:35pm)
No. 4 Bollywood

Bollywood will take winning form into the final race on today’s card at Scone and can continue her rise through the grades.

She’s been a good horse for Godolphin since debuting last year and has missed a place only three times in thirteen starts.

She appears to have returned to the track in career-best form this time, having finished second at Wyong when resuming before beating the likes of Van Giz to the line at Gosford last time out.

At around the $5 mark, she looks over the odds.
