Good Odds Harada is a star and he strikes another very winnable race at Sandown Park tonight. The son of Collision rarely runs a bad race and recorded consecutive wins in slick time at Bulli and Goulburn before finishing second behind the talented Ebby Infrared at his last appearance. He boasts decent box speed, so the central draw shouldn’t pose too many problems and with even luck, he’ll take a power of beating again.
Black Opium has gone to another level this time and with even luck from the central box, she can record another win in tonight’s Group 1 Sapphire Crown Final at Sandown Park. The daughter of Black Magic Opal has finished worse than second only once in her last eight appearances and is seeking a hat-trick tonight, having won each of her last two, both at this track and distance, with complete ease.
Tiggerlong Tonk is another star that has been confirmed to step out at Sandown Park tonight, and he’ll take a power of beating in the seventh. The son of Dyna Double One was a dominant winner in Group 3 company here last month and has won four of his last five starts, so I’m going to select him to win tonight’s Same Race Multi. Jaz Bale has drawn well, so I’m also going to select him to finish in the top three, while exciting up-and-comer Midnight Monarch can add some value to finishing in the top four.
Our Same Race Multi selections are:
No. 6 Tiggerlong Tonk (Win)
No. 2 Jax Bale (Top 3)
No. 7 Midnight Monarch (Top 4)
This looms as a reasonably open contest, but Halberd Bale has been racing in terrific order recently and his drawing of Box 1 could prove all the difference tonight. The son of Fernando Bale has won three of his last six starts, placing on two other occasions, and his win over 525m at The Meadows last time out was particularly eye-catching. A repeat of that effort would surely see him too good again.
