Russia’s Ural region simply can’t get enough of their four-team Volleyball Regional Leauge and this afternoon’s (AU time) clash between traditional rivals the Ural Academy versus the Ural Military in the men’s division is set to be a cracking contest.
Despite some poor form from Academy of recent, punters can’t split the two with both the Academy and the Military being at $1.88 in the head to head market at the time of publishing.
Things have not been good for Academy Ural in recent weeks with the team currently on a seven-game losing streak but they did put up a spirited performance against the Military in their most recent hit-out going down 2-3.
The Military team managed to survive a scare against Academy, having lost two in a row prior to the match and managed to get a much-needed win.
It’s hard to get a read on both teams, but like the most recent game, I expect another five-set epic and backing it at the solid $2.60 price.
Englishman Jarred Cole is up and about having won phase two of the Modus Icons of Darts with five out of six, winning Sunday’s first-round on leg difference and is the hot-favourite to maintain his winning ways against Fallon Sherrock in a battle of the sexes matchup.
Cole has already saw off the likes of David Evans (4-2), Jose Justicia (4-1), Paul Nicholson (4-1) and beat Fallon Sherrock in their meeting on Monday night (4-3).
Sherrock put up a good fight against Cole when these two last met and managed to prevent Cole’s rival contender for this division of the Modus Icons of Darts League, Ritchie Edhouse with an epic 4-3 win.
Sherrock may not be a favourite for the tournament, but she can be a giant killer.
I expect this one to go down to the wire.
Cole should be able to get the job done but Fallon Sherrock should make it a bloody hard day at the office for the League leader.
