It’s midweek action with Bundesliga Matchday 28 and the blockbuster clash between second-place Borussia Dortmund and top of the table Bayern Munich is set to be an absolute beauty.
Dortmund goes into this game maintaining their excellent form with a solid 0-2 win away at Wolfsburg on the weekend.
They can’t rest on their laurels right now and will need to bring more than their A-game against the might of Bayern Munich if they are to maintain their current winning streak of six straight wins and nine victories from their last 10.
Bayern Munich is hard to fault right now, coming off a 5-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, however, when leading 3-0 they did allow their opponents to score two goals in quick succession giving them a scare.
They managed to put them to bed and carry on with their winning ways and their unbeaten streak is now on 13, with 12 of those wins.
The clash the locals call “Der Klassiker” falls at a vital time of the season and this is the biggest one in years, with both clubs continuing their annual push for the title and both in winning form.
Dortmund has copped it from Bayern Munich in recent times, but if they are finally going to get one over the League leaders – now is the time.
Expect a high scoring affair in this one.
I’m backing the Draw at $4

The overnight midweek Bundesliga feast continues with the clash between Eintracht Frankfurt and Freiburg getting underway at 4:30 am AEST.
Eintracht goes into this game coming off five straight losses and has conceded 18 goals in total, their defensive efforts have come into question this week after a 5-2 loss at the hands of League leaders Bayern Munich last weekend.
As for their opponents, Freiburg – many have been impressed with their efforts in the 2019-20 Bundesliga season but a 1-0 loss to the lowly Werder Bremen last weekend was embarrassing and their fans have been calling for heads to roll since.
Freiburg remains in contention for the sixth spot on the Bundesliga table and a place in Europe, but having won only one of their past six puts a real dent in their aspirations of qualification.
Their away record is pretty poor this campaign having just won one of their past 11 games.
Perhaps the empty stadium might help their cause.
Based purely on recent form, both teams go into this match pretty evenly matched up.
I expect them to split the points in this one.
