It’s been a shocking start for the Kia Tigers as the Kiwoom Heroes look to make it a clean sweep on the road in the last of the three-game series between the two clubs.
The Heroes are not the only team who are currently 2-0 in their series and all have won their away games.
While it may be the opening of the KBO season, KIA Tigers fans are already putting pressure on their manager Matt Willimas (a former MLB national league manager of the year) with calls to Korean SEN and fan pages calling for him to be sacked.
Losing the first two games of this series makes for grim prospects for the KIA Tigers 2020 KBO campaign and the likes of starting pitcher Min-Woo Lee getting back into the team after an interrupted 2019 might give them some hope, however, his pitching has made it easy for the Heroes to sling some dingers.
Expect the Heroes to make it a clean-sweep 3-0 and back the overs in the total runs.
This Kia team needs more time in the workshop, much like the cars.
The NIC Dinos proved their KBO leading homerun team 2019 credentials with a massive 4-0 win over the Samsung Lions to get the series underway, but the Samsung boys were able to put up more of a fight in the second match going down 3-4 in a thriller on the road.
With the series now square at 1-1, it makes for a fascinating contest on the Lions home pitch.
While the NC Dinos will go in favourites to win the best of three series, you can’t discount Samsung at home and if they can improve their pitching it could give them a fighting chance.
It hasn’t been an ideal start for Samsung but if they can keep the momentum from staying in the hunt on the road, they sure can be in with a chance to get a win at home this evening.
I’m backing the underdog in this one.
