It’s Friday Night Football K-League style with the Pohang Steelers playing host to FC Seoul.
Pohang Steelers have had a solid start to their 2020 K-League campaign with a win first up and a 1-1 draw away at Daegu last week.
This continues Pohang’s good form who are now unbeaten in their last six K-League matches stretching back to the end of last season.
FC Seoul has been in the news for all the wrong reasons this week when it was revealed the club used sex-dolls as replacement fans in the grandstands for their first home game of the season.
The club has been fined $81,000 US by the Korean Football Association is, without doubt, one of the strangest Football scandals for the year 2020.
On the actual football pitch, FC Seoul gained their first win of the 2020 season with a 1-0 win over Gwangju at home.
They will take some confidence going into this match, however, Seoul’s away record isn’t great having lost their past four K-League away games.
It’s been a solid start for the Pohang Steelers for 2020 and they should be able to continue their undefeated record by taking all three points against the flat-track bullies in FC Seoul tonight.
We focus our attention on some overnight/wee hours of Saturday morning Bundesliga action with Hertha hosting Union Berlin in a Bundesliga Friday night derby.
It was a great return for Hertha last weekend with a huge 0-3 win away at Hoffenheim which was a fantastic start for new manager Bruno Labbadia.
If Hertha can keep up the good form and win the Berlin Derby, it will surely justify the decision to give Labbadia the top-job.
Union Berlin goes into this game coming off a 0-2 loss to League leaders Bayern Munich at home last weekend and while they didn’t disgrace themselves, they’ll be filthy about not being able to capitalise on the scoreboard when they had the chance.
Both teams would fancy themselves going into this match and I expect this to be a high scoring encounter.
I’m backing Hertha Berlin to get the job done at home and to lead at both half and full time.
