Mother’s Day has had a freshen up since her last appearance and is primed to break her maiden at Scone this afternoon. The Stratum filly only had two starts during her debut prep, but stamped herself as one to watch, placing on both occasions. The form out of those two races has held up and she has reportedly flourished in her time away from the track.
The early scratching of a couple of key chances has left Take To Heart as the one to beat in the third at Scone. Take To Heart returned to the races with a lovely effort to finish second at Muswellbrook before another fair, albeit luckless effort at Taree. She’s fitter third-up and can slot in somewhere behind the early pace from gate 10.
Olifants has been a pretty consistent performer this time and strikes a winnable race at Queanbeyan this afternoon, at a nice price ($7.50 at publish). He did fail to fire in a slightly tougher race at Canberra last time, but didn’t miss the places at five prior starts, including two wins. He does tend to race well here at Queanbeyan and with even luck, he can bounce back.
Perfect Pease hasn’t been seen at the races since November, but she is also yet to run a bad one and she can make a winning return at Scone this afternoon. Her record currently stands at two wins and a close up second from three starts, and she was last seen recording a comfortable victory in BM58 company at Muswellbrook. She’s trialled well and looks ready to go.
