Sandown: Race 1 (3:25pm AEDT)
No. 1 Dune Field

Dune Field didn’t have a whole lot of luck when resuming and is sure to improve from the hit-out ahead of the first at Sandown today. The Shamexpress gelding stamped himself as one to watch last time in and was held up in the final 100m here at Sandown when resuming. He’s drawn to receive a lovely run from barrier 5 and will have the services of Craig Williams.

Launceston: Race 7 (4:33pm AEDT)
No. 11 Deroche

The early scratching of Twitchy Frank and Zizzis has left Deroche as clearly the horse to beat in this afternoon’s Vamos Stakes. Deroche has been nothing short of outstanding this campaign and has recorded wins in four of her last five starts, including the Magic Millions race here on Sunday. She’s on a short back up, but I can’t see that being a problem and she’ll take a power of beating again.

Launceston: Race 8 (5:13pm AEDT)
No. 2 Taikomochi

The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained Taikomochi has a class edge over the majority of his rivals in this field and is up to winning the Launceston Cup. The Snitzel gelding has been a quality performer for the stable for several seasons now and recorded a lovely win in the Listed Australia Day Stakes at Warwick Farm two back, before finishing two lengths fourth in the Hobart Cup last start. He’s another horse that is at peak fitness today and will take beating.

Sandown: Race 8 (7:30pm AEDT)
No. 8 Heart Of Puissance

All-Star Mile entrant Heart Of Puissance is set to launch his campaign at Ladbrokes Park today and should be winning. The Puissance De Lune colt won each of his first two starts when debuting last spring before ending his prep with a third-place finish in the Group 2 Sandown Guineas here. He has a class edge over the lion’s share of these rivals and if he’s at all close to his best, will win.
