Blackadder will return from a freshen up and will have his first start for Clint Lundholm in the second at Dubbo today, and looks extremely difficult to beat. The Not A Single Doubt gelding hasn’t missed a place at his two career appearances for Ciaron Maher & David Eustace and there is little doubt that this is the easiest task that he as been faced with so far. Greg Ryan has options from the rails draw and is ready to win.
Dad’s Boy hasn’t threatened since dropping in distance at his last two starts, but a return to 2200m at Dubbo today looks like paying dividends. The Mosayter gelding has been up and racing for a while and returned some excellent efforts in December particularly, including a dominant four length win at this track and distance, and at this grade. He’s drawn a peach and with appropriate luck, can return to winning form.
Thermosa finished on the placegetters’ heels in a tougher race at Warwick Farm last time out, and this drop back to country company could prove the difference in a return to winning form. The Squamosa gelding has been a consistent performer for Rodney Robb without winning this time in, but his last-start performance suggested that he is ready to salute. He is my best of the day.
Northern Conqueror geld on to finish second at this track and distance last time out and looks primed for another big performance. The seven-year-old gelding is another horse that rarely runs a bad race, and he was taken straight to the lead by Michael Travers last week; looking to winner but ultimately finished a head second to Adsum. He can go straight to the lead again today from an inside draw and will give them something to chase.
