A must-win clash awaits both sides when the Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat do battle in the Apple Isle tonight.
The Canes’ have underperformed in BBL 9 so far and that has coincided with star batsman D’Arcy Short failing to fire. A big innings from the exciting opener tends to make it impossible for the Hurricanes’ opponents to get into the match, but we’re yet to see that this season.
The Brisbane Heat are just awful. If not for a big innings from Chris Lynn against the Sixers before Christmas, they wouldn’t have won a game in BBL 9. Their loss to the Scorchers on the Gold Coast on Wednesday was the worst of the campaign so far, and I simply do not understand how they can be favourites to win this, away from home.
