Sydney Thunder vs Adelaide Strikers (6:10pm AEDT)
Thunder to Win ($1.90)

The action takes us to the west of Sydney on Saturday evening when the Thunder host season debutants the Adelaide Strikers.

The Sydney Thunder are absolutely flying. Two matches, two wins, each impressive and there’s little doubt that they’ll improve further into this match. The Thunder’s batting has proven the be the difference in each of their performances; first, it was captain Callum Ferguson, then opener Alex Hales. Dismissing these players cheaply will be the key to Adelaide winning.

This will be Adelaide’s first appearance in BBL09 and it’s tough to know what we’re in for. They boast a quality side, headlined by the world’s best T20 bowler Rashid Khan, but they’ll be missing Captain Travis Head and Peter Siddle for this match, who are away on national duty.

At home, it’s difficult to argue with the Thunder’s potency.

Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Renegades (9:10pm AEDT)
Scorchers to Win ($2.10)

An interesting fixture takes us to the nation’s west for the first time tonight and both the Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades will be eager to respond to first-up losses.

The Scorchers were thoroughly outplayed by the Sixers in Sydney, but I’m confident that they’ll improve for the effort and returning home. The conditions are sure to suit their outstanding pace attack and a couple of early Renegades wickets would render the Scorchers extremely difficult to beat.

The reigning champion Renegades looked on their way to a nice first-up win over the Sydney Thunder, but ultimately fell short with less than an over to play. There was a lot to like about what they did, particularly with new players in tow and a new game plan.

Returning home, I’m happy to be with the Scorchers to get on the board.
