Vellauris will take good improvement into his second campaign start at Bendigo today and is ready to break his maiden. The Godolphin-trained gelding showed ability during a brief debut preparation and perhaps won’t be offered a better opportunity than he gets today, with Brad Rawiller in the saddle.
Mellors has returned two competitive efforts so far this time and is ready to win at Bendigo this afternoon. The Lindsay Park-trained gelding typically improves with racing and while he was unable to justify his favouritism at Pakenham last time, he did hit the line well to place. This race doesn’t look any harder and he’s drawn to receive a lovely run.
Skyway Star has returned to racing in excellent form this time and looks beautifully placed to record another win at Bendigo today. The four-year-old daughter of Americain recorded a nice win when resuming at Terang and ran on well again to finish second in a tougher race at the ‘Bool last time out. This is harder again, but she’s got good upside and an edge over several of these.
The Running Man only just missed at a big price when we tipped him last week and he looks beautifully placed to go one better at Bendigo this afternoon. The Robbie Griffiths-trained entire went amiss two back, but his form prior was strong, and he has been prominent in metro races tougher than this one. He can settle a little closer today from barrier 3 and finish over the top of his rivals.
