Benji Buttons has been airborne of late and looms as the one to beat in the third at Richmond this evening. The son of Barcia Bale has won each of his last four races, each in excellent time and with even luck from Box 3, it’s tough imagining any of these rivals besting him.
Legendary Opal has been a strong and consistent performer recently and looks a live chance again at Richmond. The son of Black Magic Opal hasn’t finished worse than second at his last five starts; recording a nice win at this track and distance two back before just missing over 330m last time out. Back to the 400m looks perfect for him.
Rampage Rascal has mixed his form a little this time, but he has still returned several pleasing efforts and looks to have conditions to suit at Richmond tonight, particularly having drawn Box 1. The son of Comic Rumble typically keeps his best performances for Richmond and was a dominant winner in Grade 5 company here last month.
Zen Mistress has been a model of consistency and looks a lovely bet in the tenth at Richmond tonight. The daughter of Fernando Bale hasn’t missed a place at her last four appearances; comfortably breaking her maiden two back before finishing second in a tougher race last time. A couple of her key rivals have only been fair at this grade, while she is proven.
