Bronze Bomber Goes Boom

“I am the hardest puncher in Heavyweight Boxing history. Period.”

Those were the words of the Bronze Bomber himself after he starched Luiz Ortiz with his signature right hand in the seventh round which absolutely floored the Cuban.

The current Heavyweight cartel have breathed life into the sport that has been struggling for some time especially in what has traditionally been the biggest drawcard division in the sport.

34 year old Wilder defended his title for the tenth time which ties Muhammad Ali’s record of consecutive defenses in the Heavyweight title.

He is not a pretty boxer. His left jab is more of a slap and he was getting outpointed through the opening six rounds. I personally had it 59-55 to Ortiz but plenty made the case he had not won a single round.

Thanks to his incredible power and booming straight right hand, it doesn’t matter. He has won a staggering 41 of his 42 wins (in 43 fights) by way of knock out (95.35%) and remains undefeated.

The only man that he has stood across from in a boxing ring and failed to beat is Tyson Fury. The two are booked to battle it out again on February 22 next year most likely to be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Deontay Wilder will need to sharpen up his skills

and be a little less predictable than he was yesterday when taking on the Gypsy King if he is to become the lineal champ.

Or maybe he just waits for the opening and lands that haymaker that has been so good to him.
