Luck will be required from box 6, but Umatilla rarely runs a bad race and will be tough to beat in the first at Wentworth Park tonight. The talented son of Fabregas has continued to return outstanding performances recently; finishing second in a couple of decent races here at Wentworth Park before recording an easy win at Maitland last time out.
Dark Layali is seeking a hat-trick of wins when she steps out at Wentworth Park tonight and while this is another rise in class, I think that she’s up to it. The daughter of Fabregas has been in strong and consistent form, but her last two efforts have been particularly slick and a repeat either would see her into the finish again.
Katoby has been airborne of late and strikes another very winnable one at Wentworth Park tonight. A son of the legendary Fernando Bale, Katoby simply does not know how to run a bad race and has won sixth of his last eight races, finishing second on the other two occasions. He’s clearly the one to beat.
Barry Mundi has mixed his form a little of late, but he is capable of a big performance under the right conditions and looks a live chance in a wide-open race at Wentworth Park tonight. The son Zambora Brockie has continued to improve with racing recently, but probably still has a bit more upside ahead of this. The $9 available at publish could prove big overs.
