Swan Hill: Race 3 (2:30pm AEDT)
No. 10 Poppy's Orse

Poppy’s Orse has only had one career start and hasn’t been seen at the races since June, but she looks to be an above-average galloper and can break her maiden at Swan Hill this afternoon. The Puissance De Lune filly mustered a decent turn of foot to run on for third here on debut and has trialled well in the lead-up to this. Horses with Harry Coffey aboard tend to grow another leg in country Victoria, and I think this horse can return the young hoop another winner.

Swan Hill: Race 4 (3pm AEDT)
No. 6 Adie

Adie is another runner that has had only one career start so far, but she looked good on debut and should enjoy good improvement from the experience when she steps out at Swan Hill this afternoon. The daughter of Americain races greenly but hit the line well to finish fourth on debut at Hamilton, and breeding suggests that she should relish getting out to the mile today. She’s drawn a peach and is ready to win.

Grafton: Race 4 (3:05pm AEDT)
No. 11 Coolwedge

Coolwedge has continued to improve with racing this time and strikes a winnable one at Grafton today. The Foxwedge mare recorded an easy win in Class 1 company at Gatton in August and has since contested three tougher races, laying a good account for herself in each. The small drop in trip today should suit and she is weighted to win.

Swan Hill: Race 7 (4:30pm AEDT)
No. 4 Kodakhan

Kodakhan doesn’t win out of turn, but he’s returned several competitive efforts recently and looks up to saluting in what is an open race at Swan Hill this afternoon. The seven-year-old worked home well to finish within a length of the winner at Hamilton last week and is rock-hard fit for this contest, while he could very well receive the run of the race from barrier 4. ($6.50 at publish).
