Daily Racing Tips – Thursday, October 10

Wyong: Race 2 (2:05pm AEDT)
No. 1 Canasta

Canasta is a strong and consistent performer and looks well placed to win again at Wyong today. The four-year-old recorded a tough win here three starts back and has since finished close in tougher races at Newcastle and Kembla Grange. The combination of Bjorn Baker, Tim Clark and Wyong has heralded plenty of big results recently and I think that Canasta can produce another.

Wyong: Race 3 (2:40pm AEDT)
No. 4 Prospero

Prospero has gone extremely close to winning nearly every time he has stepped out and can finally break his maiden at Wyong this afternoon. The Pierro gelding has returned five good efforts from as many starts and has finished second at each of his last three appearances. A mile looks to be his trip and with even luck, he can get the monkey off his back today.

Wyong: Race 5 (3:55pm AEDT)
No. 5 Duenna

Duenna is another horse that has been strong and consistent this time without winning, but I think that she can break through today at a nice price ($6 at publish). The Sepoy filly has finished second at each of her two starts since resuming and looks to have conditions to suit today, from the ideal barrier 5 and with the in-form Tim Clark booked to ride.

Wyong: Race 8 (5:45pm AEDT)
No. 6 Power Rush

Power Rush hasn’t been seen at the races since May, but she returned several pleasing efforts in tougher contests than this one last time and looks a winning chance at a price ($12 at publish). The Power mare has missed a place only twice in eight career starts and ended her last prep in Listed company, albeit an unsuccessful tilt. She’s drawn well and can fight out the finish.
