Banquo was unlucky not to break his maiden at Bendigo when resuming but looks set to go one better at Sale this afternoon. The son of Written Tycoon flew home from an off-pace position to finish a close-up second and is sure to enjoy good improvement from that effort. He can settle a little closer today from barrier 7 and has the advantage of Damien Oliver in the saddle.
Bumper Blast has only made one appearance at the races so far, but he looks a horse with ability, and I think that he can and will break his maiden at Sale this afternoon. The four-year-old son of Ocean Park was settled at the tail of the field at Seymour on debut and mustered an eye-catching turn of foot in the straight. He’ll enjoy good improvement for the experience and has the benefit of Craig Williams aboard today.
Quality Seeking is another horse that will take good improvement into his second campaign start at Sale today, and he looks a touch of overs to salute in the sixth at his current price ($8.50 at publish). The Quality Road entire was a run short when he resumed on the soft going at Geelong, but hit the line with intent to finish fourth, and he is drawn to receive the run of the race today from gate 3.
Rox The Castle has returned to racing in career-best form this time and will take a power of beating in this afternoon’s Sale Cup. The Castledale gelding has won three of his last four starts, two at black type level including the Listed Weekend Hussler Stakes at Caulfield last weekend. He is rock-hard fit and can go straight to the lead from barrier 6.
