Sea Dragon has only made one appearance at the races so far, but he looks a horse with good ability and can break his maiden at Seymour this afternoon. The Statue Of Liberty colt mustered a decent turn of foot to finish third at The Valley on debut early this month and is sure to enjoy good improvement from the experience, while this does look an easier race. He’s drawn a peach and is ready to win.
Little Phoenix will carry winning form into the fifth at Seymour this afternoon and looks well placed to record another. The Fiorente gelding simply does not know how to run a bad race and has placed in each of his last five appearances, but his most recent effort at this track and distance was particularly slick. He drops in the weights from that run and will take beating.
Admiral’s Joker has returned to racing in outstanding form this time and will take plenty of beating in this afternoon’s Seymour Cup (1600m). The seven-year-old beat a decent field to the line over 1118m at Caulfield first-up and franked that run with an even better performance over 1400m last time out; beating the likes of Rox The Castle and Waging War comfortably. He’ll only improve third-up and getting out to a mile should also prove ideal.
Tahitian Dancer hasn’t been seen at the races since June, but she has typically raced in tougher company than she strikes at Seymour this afternoon and is up to winning at a nice price ($7 at publish). The daughter of Dawn Approach recorded a smart win over several decent horses including a fit Music Bay when last first-up and she is drawn to receive a nice run in transit today, with a very manageable 55kgs in tow.
