There’s more Pool D action at the Rugby World Cup this afternoon as Fiji are offered a terrific opportunity to bounce back into survival contention when they face minnows Uruguay.
Fiji mustered a typically tough performance first-up against the Wallabies and to their absolute credit, led at the half. They were outclassed in the second forty, but the effort was far better than anticipated and there is no doubt that they will be even hungrier for the result today.
There isn’t an awful lot of information around Uruguay’s legitimacy in this contest, but it probably does go without saying they are severely outclassed.
When these two nations met in Fiji in November, the home side ran away easy 68-7 victors and I am anticipating a similar result here.
