hafey to present cup

Richmond has announced that Maureen Hafey – the widow of legendary four-time Tigers coach/club immortal Tom Hafey will present the premiership cup should the Tigers get the job done on Saturday.

Should the Giants win, the clubs first coach Kevin Sheedy (also a former Tiger) will present the cup to GWS.

Hafey is an integral part of the Richmond Football Club and played a vital role off the field to players, coaches, officials and staff over many, many years.

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale praised Maureen Hafey for her role at the club

“Maureen’s here in her own right as well,”

“She’s been selfless and of service, and really coached the club in partnership with Tommy, building a connection with players and their families. And in that respect, she symbolises so many other servants and in particular the women, and the great women involved in our football club who have worked tirelessly and often selflessly behind the scenes.”

Spurs dumped by Colchester

In English League Cup action overnight, Tottenham Hotspur found themselves out of the League Cup 4-3 against fourth-tier Colchester United in the shock upset of the round.

In a night that had seven Premier League clubs playing against lower league opposition upsets included Colesheter beating Spurs and fellow League Two team Crawley Town beating Stoke City 5-3 on penalties.

The stats suggest that Spurs dominated all night but Colchester got the job done when it matters.

Another day, another no trophy for Spurrs.

izzy coming back?

Will Isreal Folau come back to Rugby League?

Togan Rugby League powerbrokers will make a decision whether he’ll be allowed to play Rugby League in Tonga.

Izzy’s fate will be decided by the eight directors of the Rugby League International Federation who will decide on Thursday if he can play.

Two of those directors include Peter Beattie and Todd Greenberg who have made it a clear “No.”

Hypothetically Izzy could have been playing in this weeks AFL Grand Final or Rugby World Cup or a Prelim with Melbourne Storm.
