We’re into the second week of the 2019 Rugby World Cup and results and beginning to decide the fate of several nations, as well as the overall make-up of all four Pools. At one stage (prior to the tournament), this looked like being the game to decide which nation would progress from Pool A alongside Ireland, but the emergence of Japan has meant that whichever team loses this is almost certainly going home.
Scotland weren’t nearly as competitive against Ireland as anticipated first-up, and given that Ireland has since come out and lost to Japan, things do look reasonably dire for the Scots.
They are offered a decent opportunity to atone however, as Samoa have also been less than convincing. I don’t think that there will be an awful lot in this one, so happy to be with Samoa to cover as the outsiders.
