Isa Rocket has returned to racing in excellent form this time and looks the one to beat in the third at Ballarat today. The Fastnet Rock filly recorded an impressive win on the synthetic here to break her maiden first-up, before another decent effort to finish second behind the in-form Yeldarb last time out. The form out of that race has since been franked and Isa Rocket can return to winning form in this.
Weapon hasn’t been seen at the races since May, but he has an excellent fresh record and can make a winning return at Ballarat this afternoon. The Written Tycoon gelding rarely returns a bad performance and posted several pleasing results last time in, many in tougher races than this one. He has form around some excellent horses and is up to winning this.
Kev’s Lad has been a model of consistency and looks well placed to break back into the winner’s stall at Ballarat this afternoon. The Bon Hoffa gelding was held up at a vital stage of his race at Swan Hill last time out but still finished off well for second, and he can settle closer to the pace today from an inside draw.
A Shin Rook clearly needed the run when he finished eighth behind Age Of Chivalry at Caulfield three weeks ago, but there is little doubt that he’ll enjoy good improvement into what is a far easier task at Ballarat today. The Japanese import returned several pleasing efforts last time in and he’s drawn to receive a favourable run today.
