Daily Racing Tips – Saturday, September 14

Flemington: Race 3 (1:40pm)
No. 13 Missile Mantra

Missile Mantra won her debut race at Ballarat in April before going on to score in the Listed Redoute’s Choice Stakes at Caulfield. She returned with an impressive effort first up in the McNeil Stakes and she looks well placed in a race of this quality second up.

Rosehill: Race 4 (2pm)
No. 3 Dabiyr

Dabiyr has returned to racing in excellent form this time and looks extremely tough to beat in the fourth at Rosehill. The Redoute’s Choice gelding has won two of his last three starts, including an impressive performance at The Valley last time out and he is rock-hard fit for this contest. James McDonald is a positive booking and as long as he handles the switch to the Sydney way of going, he can win again.

Flemington: Race 7 (4:10pm)
No. 13 Mystic Journey

This is an outstanding edition of the Makybe Diva Stakes, but it is extremely difficult to find a reason why Mystic Journey won’t just win again. The Needs Further mare has now recorded seven-consecutive wins and resumed this time for an easy win in the Group 2 PB Lawrence. Her two career best performances to date were recorded at this track and distance and she’s sure to have improved from her first-up run.

Flemington: Race 8 (4:50pm)
No. 5 Streets Of Avalon

The Bobbie Lewis Quality is a wide-open contest and I think that Streets Of Avalon looks a genuine shot at a price ($17 at publish). The Magnus gelding won multiple black type races last time in and beat home the likes of Theanswermyfriend and Widgee Turf here at HQ, most notably. He’ll enjoy good improvement off his run in The Heath and can fight out the finish.
