Daily Racing Tips – Monday, September 9

each way
Wodonga: Race 1 (1:30pm)
No. 12 Gutsy

Gutsy has only made one appearance at the races so far but looks a competitive type and will carry good improvement from his first race day experience into the first at Wodonga today. A son of Brazen Beau trained by Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra, Gusty hit the line well to finish third at Seymour despite racing greenly, and he looks a chance in a wide-open race today. ($7.50 at publish)

Scone: Race 3 (2:50pm)
No. 8 Deepwood Vale

Deepwood Vale will carry good improvement into her second-up run at Scone today and looks well placed to break her maiden. The daughter of Redoute’s Choice mustered a decent performance to box on for fourth over 1100m here, and the small rise in trip that she gets today is ideal. The wide draw shouldn’t be too much of an issue in this company.

Wodonga: Race 6 (4pm)
No. 10 Isa Rocket

Isa Rocket was an impressive winner when well backed first-up and looks beautifully placed to continue her rise through the grades at Wodonga this afternoon. The Fastnet Rock filly is clearly a talented galloper, and her first-up performance suggested that she has returned in excellent condition this time. She’s drawn a peach in barrier 4 and will take beating.

Scone: Race 5 (4:05pm)
No. 1 Over And Above

Over And Above is another horse that will enjoy good second-up improvement today and he is up to winning the fifth at Scone. The former South Australian trialled well in the lead-up to his debut for Cody Walker, and produced a decent turn of foot to hit the line well for third at Dubbo. This does look a tougher race, but he’s one of the better gallopers.
