Moscini will carry winning form into the second at Kempsey today and looks well placed to record a second in succession. The Mossman gelding improved during his short debut preparation but has clearly returned a more furnished prospect this time after breaking his maiden in style at Quirindi. This is obviously tougher, but he looks a horse with ability and has the advantage of Aaron Bullock in the saddle again.
Veganza returned a rare flat effort at Taree last time out, but her form prior to that was typically strong and I am happy to give him her go another go at Kempsey today. The five-year-old mare returned an impressive win at Port Macquarie earlier this prep and was unlucky not to win any of her next three starts. There doesn’t look to be a whole lot of depth to this field and Veganza is rock-hard fit.
Heaven’s Dream has returned several pleasing efforts this time and strikes another winnable one at Kempsey this afternoon. The four-year-old son of Dare To Dream recorded an impressive win here at Kempsey two back, before another decent effort in a tougher race at Taree last time out. The small drop in trip looks like suiting and with even luck from the wide draw, he can fight out the finish.
Consistent performer Saxophone will go around in the last at Kempsey this afternoon and looks over the odds to win ($8 at publish). The Lonhro gelding beat a smart field to the line at Grafton earlier this campaign and was last seen finishing off well to place, also at Grafton. This looks an easier race and he’s drawn a peach in barrier 4.
