Blue Shadows has an outstanding PB at this track and distance and looks beautifully placed to record a win in the fifth at Sandown Park tonight. The son of Barcia Bale has continued to return plenty of pleasing performances recently and scored an impressive win at The Meadows three back, before finishing fourth in a couple of tougher races here at Sandown Park and Healesville respectively. He’s drawn a peach in Box 1 will be extremely difficult to beat.
Rockstar Beav has been a model of consistency recently and looks a live chance at a nice price in the sixth at Sandown Park. The two-year-old strode home to record a dominant win at this track and distance in good time two back but ran into interference early at The Meadows last time out and could only manage a fourth placing. He is certainly up to a race of this quality; he just needs to step well from Box 3. He’s rock-hard fit and does look ready to go.
Reiko Ablett will enjoy a drop in class into the seventh at Sandown Park tonight and will be tough to beat. The son of Fabregas doesn’t win out of turn, but he also rarely returns a poor performance and he ran on well from the outside box to finish fourth over 525m at The Meadows last time out. He’s offered a far better opportunity from Box 2 tonight and is ready to win.
Blue Striker has been luckless of late but has finally drawn a good marble and can return to winning form. The two-year-old has still been returning positive performances in far tougher races than this and finished a close-up fourth behind multiple Group 1 winner Barooga Brett only two runs back. He gets the gun run tonight.
