It’s the final round of The Rugby Championship for 2019 and New Zealand has a bit of work to do if it wants to win it’s fourth straight title.
To do that the All Blacks need to beat Australia with a bonus point, something they (annoyingly) haven’t had much trouble with lately and hope South Africa slips up in Argentina, something certainly not out of the question.
As for Australia, well it’s not looking great for their chances of winning the Bledisloe Cup for the first time in what feels like an eternity.
We have broken down both Rugby Championship Round 3 games and found a tip for them below.
Let’s be honest, this one is going to probably be a case of “New Zealand by a little or a lot” since man for man, they are a much better side than the Wallabies. As much as you may want to talk yourself into the Wallabies springing some sort of upset, it’s probably not going to happen based on the way they have played in the last two test matches. They didn’t inspire a lot of confidence dealing with an error riddled Argentine side in Brisbane and if the All Blacks are afforded a similar amount of opportunities they will put the Wallabies to the sword. There just won’t be enough talent in Australian jerseys to deal with the Kiwi onslaught.
How will the Springboks cope with the pressure of knowing a win will secure their first Rugby Championship/Tri-Nations title? Well they probably would rather win the World Cup in October but can they really afford to be picky? We’ve been saying since around the midway point of the Super Rugby season these Argentine players are no longer easybeats. The All Blacks only just got the win there a month ago and with a hostile crowd backing the Pumas, there’s a real chance they can spring an upset so as a value play I’ll back the home underdog.
