Round 23 vs Melbourne Storm

Round 23 vs Melbourne Storm

Three weeks remain in the Neds Gold Coast Titans’ 2019 campaign and boy, what a consolation winning in Round 23 would be.

It was another tough day at the office for our boys when the rejuvenated Eels rolled into town in Round 22, but it’s in the history books now and focus shifts to the ever-dangerous Melbourne Storm, who typically find themselves at the other end of the ladder.

Knocking off the Storm would clearly be a season highlight. It would do plenty for the morale of everyone and quite frankly, it’s no out of the realms of possibility – the boys went extremely close to taking the win at this point of the season last year.

Understandably there is a huge disparity in head-to-head prices and the line is set at a whopping 20.5 points, but I personally think that’s too long and I’m more than happy to take the boys to cover. There’s Titan tip number one for the week.

Total Match Points (42.5) – ‘Over’ ($1.88)

This is about as good as it gets when it comes to NRL betting, in my opinion. The standard $1.88 quote is available on both sides of the Total Match Points figure as per usual, but can anyone really see this one finishing under that?

Both sides boast outstanding strike weapons, some of the best in the comp in fact, and we could be in for a monstrous figure on the scoreboard.

You gave the Storm a serious scare when you met at the end of last season. Do you think that you can repeat that this weekend?

First Tryscorer – Brian Kelly

It goes without saying that the Titans are going to need to score first, early in the piece and probably several times if they are going to beat the Storm in Melbourne.

Brian Kelly crossed for a stunning try against at the Eels last week and without doubt, he is a player who stands up to be counted, even when the chips are down.

You scored an impressive try against the Parramatta Eels last weekend. Can you cross for another meat-pie against the Storm?

Anytime Tryscorer – Kevin Proctor

I am a big fan of backing players to cross against their old clubs so naturally, I’ll be looking towards the ever-dangerous Kiwi international Kevin Proctor this week, at a nice price.

Proctor has now had three seasons on the coast but ran out for the Storm 180 times and won a comp with them. I can’t wait to see what he does here.

You’ve been with the Titans for three seasons now, but do you still get excited when you play your old side?
