Vinland has returned to racing in excellent form and looks the one to beat in the sixth at The Valley this afternoon. The Sebring gelding has won two of his three most-recent starts, including a particularly impressive effort at Flemington last time out and with even luck, the $3.50 on offer at publish could prove to be overs.
Guard Of Honour has returned several pleasing efforts this time and looms as a live each-way chance in the last at the Gold Coast today ($10 at publish). The Northern Meteor gelding finished off well to place second at the Sunshine Coast two back, before working home well in a harder race to finish on the winner’s heels at Doomben last time out. He can slot in behind the early pace from barrier 8 and has the advantage of Ryan Maloney in the saddle today.
Terbium hasn’t been seen at the races since May, but he has a genuine class edge over his rivals in the eighth at The Valley today and can make a winning return. The Phillip Stokes-trained sprinter has recorded four wins from his five career starts, with his only defeat to date coming in Group 2 company. This looks a great race for him to launch his Spring Carnival assault.
