Round 17 vs Penrith Panthers

Round 17 vs Penrith Panthers

Fresh off the bye and with plenty of running, we’re back for Round 17 and the next club in the crosshairs of the mighty Neds Gold Coast Titans is the Penrith Panthers.

The Titans recorded an impressive win over the Panthers at Fortress Cbus earlier this season and I for one would not be surprised to see them do it on the road, as well.

To their own credit, Penrith have found a bit of winning form recently but more often than not, they’ve just been scraping by and a loss looks imminent. Off the back of Origin, I think the Penny halves will be fatigued and now is the time to strike, for our boys.

Tip number one is obviously the Titans to win, which is available at a very juicy $2.90 at publish. As always, there’s plenty more Titans Tips garnered by unique insight below.

Total Match Points (39.5) – Under ($1.88)

Frequently, I’ve the ‘over’ to salute in Titans games this season, but I think that this is going to be a real arm wrestle and the 39.5 that has been set by the bookies does look pretty steep.

Sure, both clubs boast some good attacking prowess, but a low-scoring first half looks likely and I don’t think there’s going to be a lot between the two sides at the final whistle. The standard $1.88 quote for under looks a nice bit of value, for mine.

You enjoyed a strong win over the Panthers earlier this season, what needs to be done to get the win on the road?

First Tryscorer – Anthony Don ($10)

Anthony Don has scored in the Titans’ two most recent games against the Panthers and looks a good chance to cross the paint first on Friday.

Donny’s seasonal try tally stands at seven and a single meat pie in Round 17 would see him crowned the Titans’ most prolific try scorer of all time, replacing David Mead.

You’ve bagged a try the last couple of times that you’ve played the Panthers, are you confident of crossing for another in Round 17?

Anytime Tryscorer – Jarrod Wallace ($6.50)

I think that this game is going to be won in the forwards and I’m tipping a huge performance from Jarrod Wallace, in response to his Origin snubbing.

We’re obviously going out on a limb a little bit given he starts at prop, but a big barrelling run right up on the Panthers’ line is not outside the realms of possibility.
