With a few AFL coaching gigs up for grabs, some people might be subtly leaking their interest in taking one of those open roles to the media.
Then there’s Mick Malthouse who just comes out and says it.
Apparently, he would take a job posting if he felt it was right for the club to have him at the helm.
Of course, the “right situation” may not come down to playing lists, draft picks or history, just the chequebook.
We do have to ask though, is this an open job posting because if so, there’s a few people in the Neds office who wouldn’t mind having a crack as an AFL coach…
Would Mick Malthouse consider coaching again? In a word …
“Probably.”
Malthouse says he’d take a call and have a conversation if he felt it was right for a club to consider their options because it’s ‘in the DNA.’#AFL pic.twitter.com/hb9HISb1kp

An Irishman takes to the tee box at the British Open taking place in Northern Ireland, no this isn’t the start of a limerick, it’s just what happened overnight.
Shane Lowry became just the second Irish winner of the Claret Jug, comfortably cruising home with a one over 72 to finish six strokes clear of the pack.
Englishman Tommy Fleetwood couldn’t replicate the feats of his cricketing countrymen, having to settle for the runner up position.
As for the Aussies in the field, well there was just one, Cameron Smith who finished in equal 20th position, 14 shots back from the lead.
For Lowry though, it will hopefully ease the burden of blowing a third round lead at the 2016 US Open, finally claiming that elusive major.

Forget Geelong v Hawthorn or Manly v Parra, Mack Horton v Sun Yang might just be the best rivalry
in all of sport right now.
There’s a genuine dislike between the two and Horton continued his protest over Yang’s legitimacy to compete at the World Championships.
In case you had forgotten, Horton called out Yang for being a drug cheat before beating him in the 2016 Olympics, although it was Yang taking out the 400m freestyle last night.
Horton took his silver medal but didn’t get up on the podium, creating a very uncomfortable photo opportunity.
Afterwards Yang called Horton’s actions disrespectful, and naturally the debates online were calm, rational and measured… or not.
If Yang is able to compete in the Olympics next year, we really can’t wait to see what’s next for this feud.
“This is going to continue to brew over the next 12 months.”
Tensions were high on the men’s 400m free podium, Australian Mack Horton refused to stand next to Chinese swimmer Sun Yang who’s facing allegations of doping rule violations that could result in a #Tokyo2020 ban pic.twitter.com/9QN1VfUln7

As a bonus highlight, how good was this swim from Ariane Titmus, swimming down Katie Ledecky in the final 50m of the women’s 400 freestyle.

BREAKING: Manny Pacquiao Wins Boxing Match via Split Decision!
BREAKING: Boxing Match Outcome Seen as Contentious!
Ok neither of those headlines are really a huge surprise but the 40 year old Philippines legend picked up his 62nd career victory, this time over the previously unbeaten Keith Thurman in Vegas.
At age 40 the Pac Man is still going and while the outcome might have sparked some debate (naturally), there was no doubting this was one of those bouts that was definitely worth watching.

We expect it in rugby union, we are prepared for it in cricket or league, but our Aussie Diamonds netball team losing to New Zealand was a real punch to the guts.
Naturally, it was another thrilling encounter as it always seems to be when these two face off but unlike in previous years, the Silver Ferns were crowned World Champions.
It finished 52-51 in a see-sawing encounter which prevented the Aussies taking out their fourth successive World Cup and it was New Zealand’s first since 2003.
Look, at least we’ll beat them in an Aussie Rules World Cup right?
