We all loved cricket a few weeks ago when the Aussies were flying through the group stage but suddenly, overnight, our interest just waned for some reason.
It means we didn’t really notice when David Warner got the Aussie innings off to a flying start hitting a four off the first ball.
Thankfully it also means we weren’t too fussed when the English bowlers made sure that was the highlight of the day for the defending World Champions.
Because we weren’t too interested, we weren’t sitting in a state of shock when the Aussies sat at 3/14 and were bowled out for 223.
There was no reason to wonder what else could have gone wrong when England’s opening pair of Roy and Bairstow piled on 124.
By the time the game ended with England reaching the Aussie’s total, we were comfortably tucked away in bed… not crying ourselves to sleep because we just weren’t that invested in this World Cup.
So when you meet up with that croaky voiced English person at the office today, just remember, you were never that bothered about the cricket…
Anyway, go New Zealand in the final on Sunday night.
THE DREAM IS OVER!
Australia will not defend their World Cup crown going down to bitter rivals England by 8 wickets at Edgbaston. New Zealand awaits the hosts in the final.

She might not know who the world number one is, but Serena Williams is having another Wimbledon to remember as she charged into the final overnight.
Against an opponent that could politely be described as “overmatched”, Williams crushed Barbora Strycova 6-1 6-2 to advance to Saturday night’s final.
There she will take on Simona Halep who will be similarly rested after belting Elina Svitolina 6-1 6-3 to reach her first Wimbledon final.
If Williams takes out another title at the All England Club, she will equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 Grand Slam Singles victories having lost her last two finals last year at Wimbledon and the US Open.

The Premier League might be in its preseason but that hasn’t stopped Arsenal from generating headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Club captain Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel with the side on their preseason tour of the USA as he seeks a move away from the side he has played for since 2010.
Putting in a request for Arsenal to release him from his contract so he can go sign for a side in France is a ballsy move, especially considering Arsenal’s apparently small transfer budget.
Either way, you know the loudest laughs at this situation are coming from the area around White Hart Lane.

The NFL produces some phenomenal athletes who need to find different ways to kill time in their offseason.
Washington cornerback Josh Norman went to Spain and participated in the running with the bulls event.
As a defender he’s probably been hurdled by a running back or two in his life but he returned the favour jumping over a bull in the arena.
Chances are Washington coach Jay Gruden wasn’t a fan of this video but it still looks cool to us.
Josh Norman (@J_No24) is in Spain jumping OVER bulls! 🤯
Clearly he’s gonna have a career year… #HTTR
