Rumbrella will carry winning form into the first at Ballina today and looks beautifully placed to make it two in a row. The Toby Edmond-trained gelding has shown good ability since debut but broke his maiden in style at Grafton last week and will only improve into this. He’s drawn a peach and will take a power of beating.
Trojan Storm has been a consistent performer this time and is ready to win at Ballarat this afternoon. The Mosayter gelding finished his last race off well to finish third; a nose behind Mutual Respect who has since won a Sunday race here. There’s a good early tempo engaged and that will also suit.
Wainui Gold has been a consistent performer this year and looks a live chance at a price in the sixth at Ballina today ($14 at publish). The Echoes Of Heaven gelding didn’t miss a place in four autumn starts and returned from a brief freshen up to finish fifth at Kilcoy last month. He’ll take improvement into this and with even luck, can fight out the finish.
Safety Dance is a horse of good ability and he can return to the winner’s stall in the seventh at Ballarat today. The Helmet gelding has been a model of consistency this time and has attacked the line to finish on the winner’s heels at his two most-recent starts. He’s rock-hard fit and could enjoy the run of the race from barrier 4.
