Hasty Heart has taken benefit from two fair efforts this time and looks capable of breaking her maiden third-up today. The Dream Ahead mare has worked home fairly to finish fifth at each of her two appearances so far and with even luck this afternoon, she can fight out the finish of what looks a pretty open maiden race. ($7.50 at publish).
Sir Winkle hasn’t been seen at the races since February, but he was outstanding during his short debut prep and can make a winning return at Scone this afternoon. Rip Van Winkle gelding finished a close-up second at each of his first two starts, before breaking his maiden in style at Cessnock at his last appearance before a break. He has options from the rails today and will take beating.
Court Rules has improved with two decent efforts this time and is ready to peak third-up at Ipswich this afternoon. The Court Command gelding hit the line well to round out the minors at this track and distance last time out and with further improvement, he’ll prove tough to hold out.
Plenty of early scratchings have left the Stuart Kendrick-trained Stepped In Paint as the horse to beat in the last at Ipswich today. The Starspangledbanner filly has returned three competitive efforts this time and broke her maiden in style at Doomben last time. She’s rock-hard fit and has options from the rails draw.
