Mepunga Pegasus has only made two competitive appearances at the races so far, but he has displayed above-average talent and looks well placed to continue his rise through the grades in the first at Sandown Park tonight. The son of Barcia Bale clearly needed the run when he debuted for fifth at Ballarat in late May, but clearly took huge benefit from the experience when he smoked his rivals at this track and distance earlier this week. He’ll take further benefit into this and will take beating.
Rockstar Belle has returned several pleasing efforts recently and looks up to recording another win in the fourth at Sandown Park tonight. The daughter of Collision strode home to score an easy win over 525m at The Meadows three back and has since tracked home well to finish second and fourth at this track and distance and her two subsequent starts. If she steps well from the wide box, she’ll be very difficult to run down.
Back Up #2 Kessler Bale
This is shaping as a race in two between favourite Kessler Bale and Rockstar Belle, so I’ll happily utilise Back Up.
Neo Cleo saluted for us in the heats last week and I’m confident that she’ll run another big race from Box 1 in the McKenna Memorial Final. The daughter of Cosmic Rumble has enjoyed an excellent campaign and returned to Victoria for a dominant win last week. She’s drawn to take up the running from Box 1 tonight and she’ll give them something to chase.
Looking for a bit of value in the last and Saetta looks to be a live chance at a bit of a price ($6.50 at publish). The daughter of Dyna Double One mustered a big turn of foot to score here last time out and as long as she steps well from the central box, she can fight out the finish.
