We were back to the full round of nine games and footy served up plenty of material to keep the fans on twitter dot com satisfied.
Score review stuff ups, upset wins, players having a purple patch – it was all there and we’ve yet again come up with the finest compilation of Tweets that footy twitter had to offer.
Hashtag – entertainment.
SUNDAY NIGHT
Fremantle 11- 9 (75) def. by Carlton 11-13 (79) @ Optus Stadium
The undermanned Carlton came back from 29 points down at quarter time to beat Freo by four points in one of the biggest upsets of the season.
Missing Harry McKay, Paddy Cripps and Charlie Curnow going down in the last 12 minutes, no one told Carlton to give it up and Marc Murphy proved to be the hero with his amazing goal with 31 seconds left, putting the Blues in front.
MARC MURPHY YOU STAR!

Brisbane managed to keep Melbourne in the game with terrible kicking.
Enter Eric Hipwood.
Like Mario when he’s in the invincible mode in Super Mario Land, Hipwood gave one of the all-time great 15 minute blitzes.
Eric joins an illustrious list of champions.
Complete list of players to score 4 goals in an @AFL quarter so far in 2019

Richmond got their season back on track with a much needed 33 point win.
Tiger Maboir Chol was taking the P-1 double 5 with this effort.

HOT TAKE – Sydney Stack is good at football.
Stack's going to be a seriously good player. Maybe he already is, bloody impressive. #AFLSaintsTigers

Be careful, mouthy Richmond fans are back in force.
They're coming. They're the team everyone else should be very worried about. They'll only get better from here. @Richmond_FC #AFLSaintsTigers pic.twitter.com/l2zKL6Xd4o

It was all downhill for Collingwood on Saturday night once this shithouse banner was lifted.

SATURDAY NIGHT:
Port Adelaide 5-11 (41) def.by Western Bulldogs 10-6 (66) @ Adelaide Oval
NEVER EVER BACK PORT ADELAIDE AGAIN.
Beat Geelong one week, go down to the 15th placed Bulldogs the next.
It was also pissing down rain in Adelaide on Saturday night, resulting in Port’s lowest ever crowd at Adelaide Oval. BRING BACK THE TARPS!
Smallest crowd ever at #Adelaide Oval for @PAFC tonight (25,623) & the Power kicked their lowest ever score versus @westernbulldogs & 8th lowest score all time 😱 #AFLPowerDogs #weareportadelaide pic.twitter.com/XDVZhcEplm

Some insightful commentary on the socio-economic status of Port Adelaide supporters.

SATURDAY TWILIGHT:
Sydney 14-9 (93) def. Gold Coast Suns 7-9 (51) @ SCG
The Swans got the job done over the Suns and kept their faint finals hopes alive.
It’s hardly a game we’ll remember, but we do present to you a collection of people losing their collective minds over another botched up score review decision.
On ffs, now the video review is just taking the piss. There’s far less contact, if any, than there was Thursday night. #AFLSwansSuns
— steve gost (@gosty) June 29, 2019
How on earth can the AFL call that touched and stand by Thursday nights call. What a joke #AFLSwansSuns #ScoreReview
— Michael (@mikpara) June 29, 2019
Yep, another shambles of a score review. If that Lachie Weller point was conclusive evidence, how wasn’t the Shaun McKernan goal enough evidence. Either do it right or get rid of it!! #AFLSwansSuns
— Jack Ibrahim (@Jack200285) June 29, 2019
So, you’re telling me that Lachie Weller’s goal is conclusively touched.. which I’m stunned was – yet Cale Hooker’s goal – which was visibly touched by Adam Kennedy, stands. This review system has me completely miffed. #AFLSwansSuns

Hawthorn’s annual “empty seat day at the ‘G” proved a great success.

THURSDAY NIGHT:
Essendon 12-5(77) def. GWS Giants 10-11 (71) @ Marvel Stadium
Ok, here it goes, here’s yet another collection of people losing it over the botched score review system.
Wow. 3 votes to the umpires. 3 votes to the score review system. @AFL has never been in a worse position then what the game finds itself in at the moment. Really ashamed of where this sport is heading #AFLDonsGiants
— Jake Bruni (@JBruni12) June 27, 2019
Fucking sick of umpiring ruining my enjoyment of the game. Is this the worst umpired sport in the world? Are other codes this inconsistent? Biggest problem in the game. #AFLDonsGiants
— Megan Forrester (@megankate6) June 27, 2019
Have never seen a more disgusting umpiring display that have given the bombers the win…#AFLDonsGiants
