Following on from a truly tough edition of The Open Championship, the world’s best golfers will descend on TPC Southwind in Memphis from Thursday for the 2019 FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
This is generally one of the more open World Golf Championship events of the season and it has been won by plenty of outsiders since its inception.
Brooks Koepka’s incredible consistency has seen him open as tied favourite in 2019 St. Jude Invitational betting alongside Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy (all $11), ahead of all the usual suspects including Jon Rahm ($12) and reigning champion Justin Thomas ($15).
There is case to be made for several players in the field and our 2019 St Jude Invitational tips, including best roughie can be found below.
Brooks Koepka ($11)
It is simply impossible to argue with the world number 1’s form and he will be typically tough to beat at TPC Southwind.
Koepka has two tournaments to his name this season, including the PGA Championship and a further five top-five finishes, including a T4 at the Open Championship last week. His ability under pressure is unmatched on the tour, as is his ability on a diverse range of courses and conditions. The $11 on offer in St Jude Invitational betting does look a touch of overs.
Jon Rahm ($12)
Rahm has enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence throughout the last couple of seasons and would not look out of place in the St. Jude Invitational winner’s stall.
The twenty-four-year-old posted his best result at the Open Championship when he finished in a tie for 11th earlier this week, while he has enjoyed plenty of top-ten finishes and wins at the Hero World Challenge and Zurich Classic of New Orleans, most notably. He is on the cusp of a maiden major triumph and he is up to winning at TPC Southwind.
Xander Schauffele ($23)
The 2019 form of Xander Schauffele has been outstanding and he looks to be the value in 2019 St. Jude Invitational betting.
A two-time tournament winner in 2019 in his own right, Schauffele finished in a tie for third at the US Open last month and appeared to be undone largely by a confusion with his equipment at the Open Championship last week. He is a strong and consistent performer at WGC events; winning the HSBC in 2018 and securing five top-20 finishes in only eight starts.
Best Roughie – Danny Willett ($51)
Danny Willett has enjoyed a good return to form recently and looks a live chance at odds in 2019 St. Jude Invitational betting.
The Englishman weathered a torrid start to the 2019 season but has continued to improve with each effort and has enjoyed top fifteen finishes at each of his last three tournaments, including a T6 at the Open Championship. His confidence is clearly returning, and he is worth consideration for a small bet at $51.
