Captain Comet is seeking a hat-trick of wins when he steps out in the third at Gosford tonight and will take plenty of beating again. The son of Barcia Bale hasn’t finished outside of the first three at his last seven appearances, but his two most-recent efforts suggested that he’s found peak condition and he’s drawn ideally in Box 2.
Bob’s Chance has been drawn alongside some decent runners at Gosford tonight, but he’s returned several pleasing efforts of his own this time and looms as a live each-way chance at a nice price ($18 at publish). The ran on to finish second at his last attempt at this track and distance and has since performed fairly in tougher races. He’s rock-hard fit and can stay away from early interference from the wide box.
Nutsy has been in very pleasing form of late and looks tough to beat in the last at Gosford tonight. The son of Fabregas strode in to score at Gunnedah two back before a tough run in a far stronger race at The Gardens last time out heralded a credible third placing. He’s rock-hard fit and should be given every chance from the inside box.
