Generally after a team loses by 54 points, the coach is worried about his job security. Not so in the case of Brad Arthur who has re-signed with the Parramatta Eels for another two seasons. Whether you love or hate the guy, the timing of this announcement is just phenomenal.
✒️ The Eels are pleased to announce the extension of the contract of Head Coach Brad Arthur for two years, taking him through until the end of the 2021 season!

The NRL had its Magic Round over the weekend but it seems like the AFL is having it’s own Magic Midweek as Nat Fyfe pulls off an escape act to rival Harry Houdini. Plenty of people expected him to be charged for an elbow to the head of Tom Lynch but lo and behold, he is free to play this weekend.
Will Nat Fyfe be in trouble for this elbow on Tom Lynch?#AFLFreoTigers pic.twitter.com/6kd5x4nEaV

In the final warm up tournament for the French Open, Nick Kyrgios showed his full range of potential, both good and bad as he defeated Daniil Medvedev in the first round of the Italian Open. He opened the match with an underarm serve (because why the hell not) and pulled that trick out in the second set as well. The second attempt was less successful, losing that point, his cool and eventually the second set. Just for good measure he even whacked a ball out of the stadium, sending someone home with an unexpected souvenir. He regathered himself to win the third and final set and move on to the next round.
When was the last time you saw a match begin with an underarm serve??? 🤣😜

Mile Jedinak’s best days as a footballer may be behind him, but he can still do a job for Aston Villa. That job this morning involved being a 122nd minute substitute and not touching the ball until he stepped up in the second round of the shootout and calmly put away his penalty, clearly making him (and his beard) the hero of the night. Villa couldn’t have done it without him. In case you were curious, Villa won 4-3 on penalties and are headed to Wembley to play off for a spot in the Premier League.
