Timing is everything and in the case of Nathan Cleary, he was able to time his best performance of the year to coincide with the Origin selection weekend to hold onto his Blues jersey. It probably helped his case that he was also the healthiest of the halfback options as well but either way, he’s back in.

Roger Federer winning his opening match in a Grand Slam probably isn’t newsworthy on its own, but Federer taking out his first French Open match since 2015 does deserve a mention. He cruised through the first round against Italian Lorenzo Sonego dropping just 10 games along the way. Yep, Federer is still good.
3 years, 11 months and 25 days later…

The winner of the biggest tantrum for the weekend goes to former Wallabies hooker Phil Kearns, who handled the Waratahs loss to the Jaguares with not a lot of grace. Kearns suggested that the Jaguares be kicked out of Super Rugby because they have “basically a national team” running around. Sure, why not…
‘Argentina have hoodwinked SANZAAR’: Wallabies great calls for Jaguares to be kicked out. @ChristypDoran reports.
