Cristiano who? Juventus what? Ajax have wiped the Italian giants out of the Champions League this morning after a memorable win in Turin. It was far from a clean game but there were some sparkling moments, especially from the Dutch underdogs who claimed another massive scalp. It was fitting that it was the captain Matthijs de Ligt with the decisive goal from a pinpoint header.
Another iconic Ajax moment.

Up next for the giant killers is the winner of tomorrow’s Tottenham-Man City tie and Ajax would love to embrace the underdog status once again. In the other quarter final tie this morning, Leo Messi did what Leo Messi does and scored a first half brace to knockout Manchester United. Much less dramatic but boy was his first goal special.

Former Brisbane Lions captain, Dayne Beams has declared he still loves the Brisbane Lions (Proudly sponsored by Neds)
Beams returned to his old club Collingwood during the off-season and is set to take on the mighty Lions (proudly sponsored by Neds) this Thursday night at The Gabba.
Speaking at Collingwood training yesterday, Beams told the media “…I’ve actually had a chance to watch all the [Brisbane] games. I actually sit there like a supporter to be honest,”
“I genuinely love watching them do well, because I’ve been there in the last four years when times have been tough, and last year was a step in the right direction, and you could see that things were going to change and turn.”
Beams is almost certain to play this Thursday night after missing the clash against the Western Bulldogs with a migraine.
It was only at last years Lions best and fairest that old mate Dayne declared he’d remain at Brisbane, but then requested a trade to his old club weeks later, much like Goyte and Kimbra he’s somebody that we used to know.
Dayne Beams will face his former side on Thursday night.

With Isreal Folau sacked from Rugby Union for his homophobic Instagram post, the question being asked is – Does this mean he’ll come back to Rugby League?
Probably Not.
Speaking on FOX League, Benji Marshal reckons is near impossible that the NRL will allow Izzy to come back.
“It’s up to Todd (Greenberg), really, and from what Todd’s come out and said about how they’ve backed up same-sex marriage, I don’t think that will be allowed,”
“I’m all for freedom of speech but when you use your freedom of speech against hating — there was a whole list of things — but in particular homosexuals, I’m not for that.”
“What he said is wrong, but it doesn’t really seem to faze him.”
James Graham who also appeared on NRL 360 added
“What he said is wrong, but it doesn’t really seem to faze him.
“Reading what he said after it, there’s no apology, I just can’t see a way back for him and I think that’s quite sad to be honest with you.”

Folau was sacked by Rugby Australia after his post proclaimed that “drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolaters” would be going to hell.
It’s unknown if the GWS Giants are considering bringing back Izzy.
To be honest, this author is more of a chance to be signed up for the Giants than Izzy.
