It was a memorable European night in Manchester as City’s quest for the quadruple was ended in a classic Champions League encounter.
The two legged tie finished 4-4 on aggregate and Spurs went through thanks to the away goals they scored this morning’s 4-3 defeat.
It was a game with everything… except defending.
The halftime break was absolutely necessary as fans needed to catch their breath.
Everyone okay?

Any reservations Tottenham had about VAR in the Champions League would have been washed away in the final 20 minutes.
First Fernando Llorrente scored what would turn out to be the tie clinching goal was cleared of handball before Raheem Sterling’s 93rd minute strike was overturned for offside.
You might never hear a home crowd have such a dramatic mood swing.
There is NOTHING like football.
Raheem Sterling’s ‘winner’ is overturned by VAR for offside.

Either way, Spurs will now take on Ajax in one semi final, while in this morning’s other match, Liverpool beat Porto 4-1… good for them.
The spotlight will be on former Lions player Dayne Beams as he makes his return to the Gabba tonight.
Debate continues about how Brisbane should treat their former captain with Nick Riewoldt calling on the home crowd to make plenty of noise and turn the Gabba into a fortress.
On AFL360, Bob Murphy echoed Riewoldt’s sentiments while Mark Robinson suggested the Lions should “shun” Beams in what is one of the biggest matches of the round.
Beams will make his first appearance at the Gabba as a member of the opposition since 2012 but he has some fond memories of his time in Brisbane, saying he still watches their games and whatever treatment he gets won’t impact his relationships with his former teammates.
“I sit there now and watch their games almost like a fan…”
Dayne Beams previews his return to the Gabba.

It turns out you can dominate the NRL and not be the best of friends.
Former teammates Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith will face off in the grand final rematch this weekend and if reports are to be believed, the two aren’t on great terms.
Of course there were some warning signs in last year’s decider.

This time around Cronk will have two working shoulders as his Roosters try to be the first team to defeat the Storm this season.
