Daily Racing Tips – Thursday, April 4

Ipswich: Race 3 (3:25pm AEDT)
No. 5 Sanglier

Former Godolphin galloper Sanglier will carry winning form into the third at Ipswich today and can make it two in a row. The Albrecht gelding clearly required the run when he tailed off to finish eighth at Doomben first-up in February, but he’s enjoyed sharp improvement in his two subsequent starts and finished third on the Gold Coast before recording an eight-length win at Murwillumbah last time out. Ryan Maloney takes the ride and the horse will be hard to beat.

Geelong: Race 6 (4pm AEDT)
No. 5 Divanation

The well-bred Divanation will step out second-up in in the sixth at Geelong today and will relish an increase in trip. By All Too Hard and out of Makybe Diva, Divanation has only made three competitive appearances at the races so far but is yet to miss a place and worked home well to finish third over a mile at The Valley first-up. This looks a far easier task and she won’t be offered a better opportunity to return to winning form.

Gosford: Race 6 (4:20pm AEDT)
No. 1 Cool And Neat

Cool And Neat will carry winning form into the sixth at Gosford today and will only improve third-up. The Lonhro gelding ran on well to finish second behind Grand Exit at Scone first-up before returning to the winner’s stall with absolute ease on the soft going last time out. He takes a 3kg claim with Reece Jones in the saddle today and is more than up to beating a field of this quality.

Gosford: Race 8 (5:30pm AEDT)
No. 2 Total Power

Total Power hasn’t been seen at the races since November, but he is also yet to taste anything but success and will be tough to beat in the last today. The Dundeel gelding immediately stamped himself as a horse to follow when he recorded an easy win on debut at Tamworth, and he was returned to the paddock after producing an even better effort in Class 1 company. He’s had the benefit of a couple of trials leading into this race and has plenty of options from the rails draw.
