Ombre Rose will carry winning form into the third at Gosford tonight and looks tough to beat again. The daughter of Black Magic Opal has returned several strong efforts this time, but her last-start win over 400m at The Gardens was particularly impressive and she is rock-hard fit. She needs only to step well from the wide box to fight out the finish.
Bushranger Ben has only made two appearances at the races so far but has stamped himself as a dog to follow and can continue his rise through the grades at a double-figure price tonight ($11 at publish). The son of Barcia Bale jogged in to win by nearly six lengths on debut before hitting the line well for second, from an awkward draw at Taree last time out. He’ll only improve here and will jump from an inside draw for the first time.
Connie’s Boy has enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence and can continue his impressive career start through the tenth at Gosford tonight. A son of the legendary Fernando Bale, Connie’s Boy has recorded five wins and three minors through his eight career starts so far and was last seen scoring over 400m at The Gardens. He’s drawn well again tonight and will take a power of beating.
