Around The Tweets – NRL Round 7

Have you ever?
Ever felt like this?

When Rugby League happens are you going ‘Round the Tweets?

Another big round of NRL and another round of Tweet goodness. We’ve got it all covered in Around the Tweets.

SUNDAY:
Knights 28 def. Eels 14

After a tough week of soul searching for the Newcastle Knights, they managed to do a number on the highly fancied Parramatta on their home deck and breath a bit of life back into their 2019 season.

This man was full of praise for Knights coach Nathan Brown

There are always many conspiracy theories on Twitter about the referees, but this one may have some merit

Gee whiz, the referees must have had a shocker if this is happening

And the most talked about cold shoulder of the weekend was finally addressed by Gus Gould in the Channel 9 pre-game show.

SUNDAY ARVO:
Manly 24 def. Raiders 20

Many were able to get the job done over Canberra at Brookvale Oval but the talk was all about skipper Daly Cherry-Evans leaving the field early with a suspected ankle injury.

But some reckon Manly are better off without the bloke!

Turns out this is one of the top reviews for Brookvale Oval on TripAdvisor as well – language warning kids.

SATURDAY NIGHT:
Broncos 29 – Sharks 6

It was the Anthony Milford show at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night as the Brisbane Broncos got a much needed and convincing win over the Sharks who lost Shaun Johnson with a hamstring injury and were injury-ravaged in general.

You get the feeling that some want the Broncos not to do well.

Somebody get the Aloe Vera Intensive Care because this is quite the burn.

But really it was the efforts of Anthony Milford that was the story of the night, he’ll get free upgrades at any Brisbane McDonald’s store for life.

SATURDAY:
Wests Tigers 30 def. Gold Coast Titans 14

The Neds derby was held in Tamworth and the Tigers got the job done over the Titans.

These teams are like our children and we love them both equally.

Twitter was split about Dan Ginnane calling the game.

This is some mathematics formula.

The Tamworth ground did look magnificent. Country Footy for the win!

FRIDAY NIGHT:
Panthers 18 def by. Souths 22

This easily wins the Tweet of the Round.

THURSDAY NIGHT:
Storm 13 def. Warriors 12

A Brodie Croft field goal managed to get Melbourne Storm home on ANZAC Day. Yet again, Storm performing the great escape.

So much love for Storm’s ability to carve out a win.

ANZAC DAY:
Roosters 20 def. Dragons 10

The Roosters got the job done over Dragons in their annual ANZAC day hitout at the SCG.

There was more love for the refs.

It was a real Ben Hunt of a match.

No matter the outcome of the match, this is always stirring stuff on Anzac Day. Lest we forget.
